I believe in the power of design to create great experiences that empower people to succeed. My goal is always to create beautifully intuitive user experiences that leave the world in a slightly better place.

I've been in the tech industry for six years. I'm passionate about problem solving on a systems level, but I also love to sweat the details with developers. I have experience working on large design teams as well as being the first and only designer at a company.

I most recently led design at LearnUp, a pre-job training platform that aimed to reduce the skills gap for entry-level jobseekers. My team and I built intuitive user experiences for large corporations like Walmart and Old Navy as well as entry-level jobseekers. LearnUp was acquired in February 2017.

Prior to joining the bay area tech scene, I taught undergraduate design courses at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and the California College of Art (CCA). I hold a BFA in studio arts from the University of Texas at Austin and an MFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

I recently gave a talk, Being the first designer: How to pave the way for an awesome design team, this March at the O'Reilly Design conference in San Francisco.
